A limited free service funded by the Tairawhiti District health board is provided for women referred to us by their midwife or other health professional.

A private service is also available for those who wish to self-refer.  Charges apply.

About Me:

A registered midwife since 2004 & a Lactation Consultant since 2010.  I have worked in New Zealand & abroad in Ireland.

I am a busy mother of 2, both under the age of 3!  This has given me plenty of practical breastfeeding experience as well as the many years I have spent as a professional, helping mothers and babies with breastfeeding problems achieve the outcomes they hoped for.  I’ve also have been involved in Antenatal Breastfeeding education sessions as well as running a Drop-in Clinic with a colleague of mine here in Gisborne. In 2010 I co-organised Gisborne’s 1st Baby Expo. My focus there was to show Gisborne Mums all the free services & programmes available to them & their children as well as the many baby & children business’ there are in Gisborne run by Mamas just like me.

Breastfeeding difficulties with both of my babies has given me great empathy for any mother facing feeding challenges. My first breastfeeding experience was an overall nightmare that took several months to solve. With our second baby, we suffered the hideousness of colic  & breast refusal. I am passionate about breastfeeding but thanks to my experience as a mother, I am also very well aware how extremely difficult and challenging it can be. This helps me greatly in my work as all I wish to give to every mother is the satisfaction & joy you feel when it finally works!!
